The Trust has worked in partnership with other organisations to restore three former quarries within the Rockingham Forest – Twywell Hills and Dales, Weldon Woodland Park and Stanwick Lakes.  These sites are now open to the public all year round and have car parking.
Twywell Hills & Dales

Twywell Hills & Dales is a 55 hectare countryside site which takes its name from the abandoned quarry workings which created its undulating landscape.

Most of the site has been allowed to revert back to nature and is now a haven for rare wildlife, especially within the Gullet area which has been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest.

Twywell Hills and Dales offers a choice of waymarked trails within the site as well as marked routes leading to surrounding villages.

The car park is just off the A14 junction 12, on the road to Cranford.
