Who are we?
The Community Planning Network is an active network of local people who care about the place where they live and therefore want to influence new building development. The emphasis is on the sharing of skills and experience in influencing the planning system, from creating Village Design Statements to commenting on planning applications. Learning from each others experience will avoid reinventing the wheel, spread useful tips and give projects a head start. By demonstrating positive, constructive community involvement in planning we can start to build stronger relationships between communities, planners, and developers. Ultimately, this should lead to new development being planned with a better understanding of local people and local character. |
